(1.) PROJECT SUMMARY

As fusion energy technologies approach commercialization, it is important for researchers, technology developers, and policymakers to understand public perspectives on fusion, including hopes and concerns about trajectories of technological development and use. Global Fusion Forum is an online participatory platform for anyone (students, citizen scientists, educators, potential host communities of future fusion facilities) to learn about and offer their perspectives on the development of fusion energy technologies.

This interactive platform was created by an interdisciplinary team that combined expertise in plasma physics, technical communication, participatory design, scientific illustration, UX/UI design, and web application. Global Fusion Forum is now in use in over 20 countries.
